Body Brushing

Dry-brush your entire body before you shower—it stimulates the lymph system and helps to get rid of cellulite. Kick it up a notch by taking the BODY PURIFING TEA. I swear by it.

Beginning dry-brush technique: Use our natural bristle brush, as they can irritate the skin. The brush should be kept dry and not used for bathing.

Begin by brushing from your feet (bottom and over the top) toward the centre of your body. Use sweeping, continuous short strokes. Then brush from your hands toward your chest, again using short sweep strokes. Brush in circular movements for an extra minute on problem areas, such as your thighs (to help minimize cellulite), and then continue with other areas that need help. Vary the brushing pressure to accommodate varying sensitivity of the skin of different parts of the body – face, medial thighs, abdomen and breasts are more sensitive. Never brush irritated, damaged or infected skin. When your skin is “seasoned” you can use more pressure or a coarser brush.

A slight flushing of your skin is okay, but if it is red, you may be applying the brush too hard.

Brush dry skin before showering until it becomes warm and rosy for 5-10 minutes, and then shower away dry skin particles. You may finish the routine with the DETOX AromaBlend that doesn’t contain mineral oil which can clog the pores.

Contrast Showers

The contrast between hot and cold water increases circulation, promotes detoxification and strengthens the immune system. This helps bring nutrients, oxygen and immune cells to damaged and stressed tissues and carries away metabolic waste, inflammatory by-products and other toxic substances. Start with three minutes of hot water followed by less than one minute of cold water. Repeat this pattern at least once, always finishing with cold (e.g. 3 minutes hot – 1 minute cold – 3 minutes hot – 1 minute cold).
